TOEFL–Brief Introduction

Every year more than half a million students aspiring to attend college or graduate from various countries all over the world take TOEFL test. TOEFL is the “Test of English as a Foreign Language”. About 5000 colleges and universities require TOEFL score along with applications. TOEFL is designed level of a student and his ability to succeed in English speaking academic environment.

Before 2005 TOEFL used to be PBT (paper based test) or CBT (Computer based test). Since 2006 iBT (Internet based test) was introduced in most of the countries. However PBT is continued to be administered in several countries even today.

TOEFL iBT is designed to evaluate a person’s Speaking, Reading, and Listening & Writing skills. In iBT your speech is recorded and audio presentations are provided during the tests. Such type of testing method is referred to as “integrated tests” test which aims to asses completely the language skills of the student from the point of view of ability to excel in English-speaking academic environment.

The Technical University of Košice was founded in 1952, but its roots must be sought much deeper

in the past. Soon as 1657 the Universitas Cassoviensis was established in Košice, 
but technical education in Slovakia was only elevated to higher - education level in 1762, 
when the Austro-Hungarian monarch Maria Theresa established the Mining Academy in 
Banská Štiavnica. This provided education and supported research activity in a group of 
scientific disciplines ranging from ore mining through to production and processing of 
metal materials

The Technical University of Košice (FEI TU) has been formed based on the Governmental Decree No.79/1969, Coll., of July 21, 1969 as a faculty originally titled "Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the TU of Košice". Ever since its formation  with electrical engineering, those scientific and study branches that presently stand for the group of informatics-related sciences, gradually became significantly entrenched. 
From 15th April 1994 onwards the faculty has borne the name of Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics of the TU of Košice.
The principal mission of FEI TU of Košice is seen in providing  education on the basis of creative research especially in such fields as electrical engineering and informatics. 
Presently faculty consist from 11 separate departments. Wide spectrum of research and pedagogic activities are maps to three main directions:

Wichita State University (WSU) is a public research university in Wichita, Kansas, United States. It is the third-largest university governed by the Kansas Board of Regents.

Admission Criteria and Requirements
  • Academic Percentage & Backlogs: Students must have 60 – 65% & 5 -8 backlogs Under graduation.
GRE/GMAT: Most of the programs require 290 - 303 in the GRE to qualify for admission.
A minimum score of 480 - 503 in GMAT has needed the programs under the Business School. The GRE is also Considered in place of GMAT for MBA programs.

Most of the universities use the comparison tool to know the predicted GMAT score based on an applicant’s GRE Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning scores.

English Requirement: All students are required to submit proof of English proficiency from one of the following English tests.
  • TOEFL: 79
  • IELTS: 6.5
  • PTE: Not Acceptable
Note: 88 in TOEFL or 7 in IELTS required by the MBA program.
  •  Conditional Admit: There is not conditional admit.
  • Tuition Fee: 17K per Annum
  • Application Fee: 65$
  • Transcript Evaluation: Not required
  • Admission Deposit: Deposit is not required.

·         PTE: 53
·         Conditional Admit: There is no conditional admission for MS in Computer Sciences.

Other Programs: ELS 101 and 112.  Each level lasts for four weeks (one month) and costs about $1800. A student that has IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL 70 will probably need 4-6 months at ELS. Below the level student has to enroll ELS.
