About the University: California State University, Fresno (commonly referred to as Fresno State) is a public comprehensive university and one of 23 campuses within the California State University system. It is located at the northeast edge of Fresno, California, approximately 58 miles (93 km) from the entrance to Yosemite National Park, and sits at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountain range in the San Joaquin Valley. The city of Fresno is the fifth largest city in California. The university is within an hour's drive of many mountain and lake resorts and within a three-hour drive of both Los Angeles and San Francisco. TEACHING ASSOCIATE SHIPS & GRADUATE ASSISTANT SHIPS: A number of teaching assistant ships and graduate assistant ships are available to graduate students who are enrolled in a master's degree program and whose previous records show outstanding achievement in academic work, outstanding subject matter competence in their major fields, and the special qualities necessary to the duties assigned.

Admission Requirement
English Requirement: All students are required to submit proof of English proficiency from one of the following English tests. TOEFL: 79 IELTS: 6.5 PTE : Not Acceptable Conditional Admit : Any Score Below 6.5 In IELTS and 80 In TOEFL is Conditionally admitted. Student has to complete ESL and then get into the masters. The duration of the ESL is 8 weeks.
